Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. Job 40:7
Please Take the Quiz Below. You will fail, but the answer is also listed.
If you haven't fully understood the need for Christ in you life, and yet you're reading this web site, I might as well ask you a few questions so I can then properly explain it to you. Also, I ask you to read the entire page. Don't hesitate to answer these honestly....I can't hear you.
Have you ever told a lie? Sure you have. If you said no, you're probably a liar.
Have you ever stolen anything? Be honest.
Have you ever taken the Lord's name in vain?
Have you ever committed adultery? If you said "no," maybe you should hear Jesus' word on the matter:
"You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Matthew 5:27, 28
Now answer the question again....sure you have.
How about murder? No again? Listen to Jesus' words on this:
"You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.' But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment." Matthew 5:21,22
If you're at all honest, you've held anger for someone at some time.
So, by your own admission you're a lying thief, a blasphemer, even a murderer, etc. Don't give me that look....I failed the same test.
Finding all this hardly matters though - the bible says: For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. James 2:10
Just one point? What this all means is: "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 and "Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law." Romans 3:20. Simply put, because we have sinned, we can no longer stand innocent in the presence of God even if we observe the law - meaning the law received by Moses. This includes, but is not limited to, the 10 Commandments. It can be said with certainty that if one person on Earth had ever met the 10 Commandments without breaking one, there would have been no need for the atonement of sins and Christ would not have needed to die. Are you getting the picture? If someone breaks a law, they must pay a penalty when caught. And we have all been caught -
But if you fail to do this, you will be sinning against the LORD; and you may be sure that your sin will find you out. Numbers 32:23.
We no longer stand justified, but rather we are condemned already. Judgment has already been passed on our sins. At our death, we will be separated eternally from God. Our existence is eternal - He has also set eternity in the hearts of men. Ecclesiastes 3:11. - but it will not be pleasant.
There is good news though - Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! Romans 7:24 and But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. Romans 3:21, 22.
What does this mean? It means that although we are condemned for our sins, someone came to pay that penalty for us. That was the whole purpose for Christ's death. God sent his Son, born under the law, born of a woman, and yet he was found without sin at his death. He came to trade his righteousness for your sins. Think of it this way. If you broke a law in America and were found guilty, you would always be guilty - forever. Even after your death it would be recorded. However, the President of the United States is authorized to provide a pardon to anyone for any reason. Once that pardon is written, all memory of your crime is dropped. God, through His Christ, is offering you a pardon for any and all of the sins you have committed. This comes by placing your faith in Jesus. If that sounds too good to be true then you will understand why it is called the Gospel or "Good News." Christ's righteousness is imputed (see definition below) to you. His shed blood covers or atones for your sins: He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. Romans 4:25. This astonishing action is exactly why there is NO forgiveness of sins outside of Christ Jesus. God would have sent his Son to die for absolutely nothing if there were any other way to Him. Jesus made it very clear: I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6. Despite what you may have been taught through "tolerance training," New Age philosophies, or even a liberal Christian church, the Holy Bible points to Christ, is about Christ, and explains Christ. It is complete, without need for addition. All of God's plans and desires for mankind are in its pages. Just imagine the love God must have for you that he would make this bridge possible - He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. Romans 4:25.
One interesting point about pardons though - they do not take effect, even when issued, until they are accepted by the pardoned; they can be turned down. It is exactly the same for salvation. Christ is reaching out to you; however, you must - by faith - reach back.
God does exist. It is made quite clear in scripture, but even apart from that it is made apparent to all humanity:
For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. Romans 1:20.
In addition to this, I personally believe the Gospel of Christ is clearly understood by all men and written into their fabric. I believe this because I have seen its power transform lives of people from every social background whether rich or poor, alcoholics, drug users, murderers, lawyers, etc., and from every ethnic background, whether Asian, African, Arab, American, etc. It transcends age and religious upbringing as well. Children just old enough to feed themselves get the message. Once the Gospel is heard, it is immediately understood. Yes, we can accept or reject it freely, but the understanding of its implications when clearly put forth cannot be denied.
It is my most fervent prayer that by your reading this you will finally see the need for a Savior. Consider these things and do that one thing you need to be sure you are right with God. Humbly, with the faith of a child, bow your head in prayer and acknowledge that you failed the quiz above. Accept God's free gift of salvation through faith in Christ. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8, 9.
Please do this for your sake and that of the One who loves you most. So much so that He stepped from eternity into this fallen world. He did it all for you.
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
"Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?"
"Who has ever given to God,
that God should repay him?"
For from him and through him and to him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen. Romans 11:33-36

Impute: Extend a quality to somebody else: to regard a quality such as righteousness that applies to somebody as also applying to another person associated with him or her.
To learn more about the concepts of redemption, justification, sanctification, imputation of righteousness, glorification, etc., I suggest you do a thorough study of the book of Romans. Paul clearly and concisely spells it all out for you.
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.
