Jesus Christ is - The Wonderful One
To Him be the glory both now and forever.  Amen.
Uplifting and Encouraging.  There's a battle being waged, but the outcome is inevitable!  Christ is the victor.
The Battle

Order the buckler and shield,
And draw near to battle!

Jeremiah 46:3

“When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.  So it shall be, when you are on the verge of battle, that the priest shall approach and speak to the people.  And he shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies.  Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them; for the LORD your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’  Deuteronomy 20:1-4

Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, except the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon. All they took in battle.For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that He might utterly destroy them, that they might receive no mercy, but that He might destroy them, as the LORD had commanded Moses.Joshua 11:18-20

Then the children of Israel arose and went up to the house of God to inquire of God. They said, “Which of us shall go up first to battle against the children of Benjamin?” The LORD said, “Judah first!”  Judges 20:18

Now as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel.  But the LORD thundered with a loud thunder upon the Philistines that day, and so confused them that they were overcome before Israel.  1 Samuel 7:10

Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.  This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you.  And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.  Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands.”  1 Samuel 17:45-47

But David said, “My brethren, you shall not do so with what the LORD has given us, who has preserved us and delivered into our hand the troop that came against us.  For who will heed you in this matter?  But as his part is who goes down to the battle, so shall his part be who stays by the supplies; they shall share alike.”  So it was, from that day forward; he made it a statute and an ordinance for Israel to this day.  1 Samuel 30:23-25

“How the mighty have fallen in the midst of the battle!
      Jonathan was slain in your high places.
      I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan;
      You have been very pleasant to me;
      Your love to me was wonderful,
      Surpassing the love of women.
      “How the mighty have fallen,
      And the weapons of war perished!”  2 Samuel 1:25-27

It happened in the spring of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the people of Ammon and besieged Rabbah.  But David remained at Jerusalem.  2 Samuel 11:1

And he wrote in the letter, saying, “Set Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retreat from him, that he may be struck down and die.”  2 Samuel 11:15

For You have armed me with strength for the battle;

You have subdued under me those who rose against me.  2 Samuel 22:40

And it shall be, when you hear a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.  1 Chronicles 14:15

Lift up your heads, O you gates!
         And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
         And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
         The LORD strong and mighty,
         The LORD mighty in battle.

Lift up your heads, O you gates!
         Lift up, you everlasting doors!
         And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
         The LORD of hosts,
         He is the King of glory.  Selah   Psalm 24:7-10

O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation,
         You have covered my head in the day of battle.
Psalm 140:7

Blessed be the LORD my Rock,
         Who trains my hands for war,
         And my fingers for battle – Psalm 144:1

The horse is prepared for the day of battle,
      But deliverance is of the LORD.  Proverbs 21:31

I returned and saw under the sun that—

      The race is not to the swift,
      Nor the battle to the strong,
      Nor bread to the wise,
      Nor riches to men of understanding,
      Nor favor to men of skill;
      But time and chance happen to them all.  Ecclesiastes 9:11

For every warrior’s sandal from the noisy battle,
      And garments rolled in blood,
      Will be used for burning and fuel of fire.
      For unto us a Child is born,
      Unto us a Son is given;
      And the government will be upon His shoulder.
      And His name will be called
      Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
      Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
      Of the increase of His government and peace
      There will be no end,
      Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
      To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
      From that time forward, even forever.
      The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.  Isaiah 9:5-7

A sound of battle is in the land,
      And of great destruction.  Jeremiah 50:22

They have blown the trumpet and made everyone ready,
      But no one goes to battle;
      For My wrath is on all their multitude.  Ezekiel 7:14

In that day I will make a covenant for them
      With the beasts of the field,
      With the birds of the air,
      And with the creeping things of the ground.
      Bow and sword of battle I will shatter from the earth,
      To make them lie down safely.  Hosea 2:18

With a noise like chariots
      Over mountaintops they leap,
      Like the noise of a flaming fire that devours the stubble,
      Like a strong people set in battle array.  Joel 2:5

But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah,
      And it shall devour its palaces,
      Amid shouting in the day of battle,
      And a tempest in the day of the whirlwind.  Amos 1:14

The vision of Obadiah.

      Thus says the Lord GOD concerning Edom
      (We have heard a report from the LORD,
      And a messenger has been sent among the nations, saying,

      “Arise, and let us rise up against her for battle” -  Obadiah 1:1

From him comes the cornerstone,
      From him the tent peg,
      From him the battle bow,
      From him every ruler together.  Zechariah 10:4

Then the LORD will go forth
      And fight against those nations,
      As He fights in the day of battle.  Zechariah 14:3

For if the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare for battle?
1 Corinthians 14:8

The shape of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle.  On their heads were crowns of something like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men.  Revelation 9:7

Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.  His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.  He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.  And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.  Now out of His mouth goes a sharp  sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.  And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

Revelation 19:11-16

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watch fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps;
His day is marching on.

I have read a fiery Gospel writ in burnished rows of steel;
“As ye deal with My contemners, so with you My grace shall deal”;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel,
Since God is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet;
Our God is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free;
While God is marching on.

He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is wisdom to the mighty, He is honor to the brave;
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of wrong His slave,
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.
