“Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”
2 Corinthians 6:17
In the following paragraphs, I speak very strongly against papal doctrine, which in turn is Roman Catholic doctrine. However, I'm not one to feel that every person in the RCC is heading to hell, so please don't misconstrue this as an attack on faithful, Bible believe Catholics. It is Jesus Christ and He alone who brings salavation and it is a personal relationship with Him which saves. There are good folks in bad churches and bad folks in good churches. Only Jesus is the way to salvation.
Paul defines the limits of the Gospel very clearly in Galatians 1:6-9 – I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
This is neither complicated, nor is it difficult to adhere to. There is one gospel message and no other. In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul states the Gospel as Christ dying for our sins, being buried, and rising from the dead which was witnessed by the Apostles and others. That’s it. All 101 occurrences of the word “Gospel” in Scripture center on Jesus Christ and His mission.
Having said that, it is with 100% certainty that the Roman Catholic Church proclaims both another gospel and is, therefore, cursed according to Scripture. In the past, I’ve tried to stay away from too much condemnation of those who perceive things differently unless it is painfully obvious that the truth is being distorted. Even with many deviations from sound doctrine, I’ve tried to be more inclusive of the Roman Catholic Church. However, I can no longer make this stand. RCC doctrine teaches that the “Pope” is the head of the church, that his edicts are infallible, and that there is no salvation outside of the RCC. All three of these tenets are in error and point to heresy. Because the Pope claims infallibility and because he claims to be the spokesperson for the RCC, he must be held accountable for his words.
The following excerpts are from two separate documents relating the words of the Pope. Links are provided and my analysis is included below each statement. These words, from the leader of the Roman Catholic Church, are clearly “another Gospel” and are therefore heresy and are to be condemned.
Benedict XVI placed the world in Mary's hands during his one-day visit to the shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary in Pompeii, near Naples.
First, the Pope has no authority to place the world in anyone’s hands. As the Bible clearly proclaims, The earth is the LORD’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. Psalm 24:1. Second, Mary is dead; she’s waiting for the Lord to come and raise her to new life along with all others who have died in Christ. See 1 Thessalonians 4 for the exciting details of the resurrection.
"We implore you to have pity today on the nations that have gone astray, on all Europe, on the whole world, that they might repent and return to your heart," the text of the prayer reads.
We don’t petition anyone but God in prayer. To do otherwise is to deny Him of what only He is due. When we petition God, we do it through Jesus Christ - For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5
With the words of Bartolo, the Pontiff turned to Mary, saying: "If you will not help us because we are ungrateful and unworthy children of your protection, we will not know to whom to turn."
Can you imagine this? The Pope claims that he knows of no one else who can protect us - only a piece of stone in a pagan shrine. This is truly blasphemy in the highest degree. May he be eternally condemned – unless he repents and turns to Jesus – for denying the only true God and in His place exalting an idol of stone.
In a gesture of filial love, the Pope then offered the Madonna a golden rose.
Offerings to idols are condemned throughout the Bible. This is, again, blasphemy. Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when their slain are among their idols all around their altars, on every high hill, on all the mountaintops, under every green tree, and under every thick oak, wherever they offered sweet incense to all their idols. Ezekiel 6:13
The shrine contains an image of Mary to which hundreds of miracles and healings are attributed.
Neither shrines, idols, nor Benny Hinn are able to heal. Only God has the power to miraculously heal.
The secret of Pompeii, the Holy Father revealed, is the rosary: "This prayer leads us through Mary to Jesus."
Negative. We pray through Jesus to God. That is all that is allowed in Scripture.
the Supreme Pontiff who had already proclaimed the Virgin Mary as Mother of the Church, … who as Mother of Christ is Mother of God and the spiritual Mother of us all.
Mary was the human mother of Jesus Christ. That’s it. She was a faithful human who lived a faithful life to God and will receive her rewards at the resurrection. Until then, she is with Christ in spirit. She is neither the mother of the Church, the mother of God, nor my spiritual mother.
… the faithful may obtain this Indulgence on the usual conditions (sacramental Confession, Eucharistic Communion and prayer for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff), in a spirit that is completely detached from affection for any sin, if they participate in a sacred rite in its honour or at least offer an open witness of Marian devotion before an image of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, displayed for public veneration, adding the recitation of the Our Father and the Creed and exclamatory invocations to Mary Immaculate, such as "You are All Fair, Mary, and in you there is no stain of original sin!", or "O Queen, conceived without original sin, pray for us!"
The Pope, along with self condemnation for denying the sovereignty of God, asks you to join him in his condemnation. We do not praise, pray to, nor worship pieces of wood or stone. Indulgences were thought up by wicked men in order to fund their wickedness. They are unscriptural and anyone who puts their faith in them has departed from the true faith found in Scripture.
Just so you know, these are not isolated instances of the abuse of papal authority. These are two of hundreds, even thousands, of such examples. The RCC proclaims another Gospel and asks you to join them in their trip to destruction. Don’t follow them, but instead put your hope and trust in Jesus Christ for salvation.
Come to the living waters and be saved!
